Brandon Jones

Brandon Jones is a Firefighter/Tactical Paramedic (SWAT-trained) with the Madison Fire Department, an experienced Fire and EMS instructor, and a dedicated advocate for emergency preparedness and public safety. With extensive experience in tactical emergency response, disaster preparedness, and crisis intervention, Brandon is committed to equipping individuals with the skills needed to save lives in high-risk situations.

MKE Heroes & CERT Administrator

As the MKE Heroes and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Administrator for Hand Up Resource Center, Inc., Brandon serves as an overseer and advisor, ensuring the successful implementation of emergency preparedness programs. His leadership supports training in disaster response, CPR, first aid, and hemorrhage control, with a focus on communities disproportionately affected by healthcare disparities and public safety challenges.

SWAT & Tactical Emergency Medicine Expertise

Brandon’s role as a SWAT-trained Tactical Paramedic has given him specialized expertise in high-intensity emergency response. His training allows him to provide critical medical care in hostile and unpredictable environments, including active threat situations, law enforcement operations, and disaster scenarios. His tactical medical knowledge ensures that both first responders and civilians receive lifesaving treatment in the most challenging conditions.

Education & Professional Leadership

Brandon’s expertise in Fire Science and EMS is backed by a robust educational background and years of hands-on experience:

  • EMS Program Manager at the University of Wisconsin - Madison
  • Instructor of Fire Science & Emergency Response at UW-Madison & Madison Area Technical College
  • Certified CPR Instructor
  • Fire and EMS Instructor

Through his work in higher education and technical training, he prepares future first responders to handle complex emergencies with confidence and precision.

Leadership & Advocacy

Brandon is also a champion for diversity and inclusion in emergency services. As the Chairman of the Sable Flames (Black Firefighters Association), he is dedicated to mentoring and supporting Black firefighters while advocating for stronger community partnerships in public safety initiatives. His leadership extends beyond firefighting, focusing on professional development, recruitment, and community service to ensure equitable opportunities in the fire service profession.
