Natashia “Tasha” Kirch is a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Madison Fire Department, a dedicated educator, and a trailblazer in emergency response. Originally born in Germany, Tasha moved to Madison, Wisconsin, at the age of eight, where she developed a passion for public service, safety, and community engagement.
Tasha holds the distinction of being the 4th Black woman firefighter in the City of Madison Fire Department’s 100-year history—a testament to her dedication, resilience, and leadership in a traditionally underrepresented field. Her commitment to service and breaking barriers has made her an inspiration to those looking to pursue careers in firefighting and emergency medical services (EMS).

She is also a certified CPR instructor and an experienced Fire and EMS instructor, teaching at Madison and Milwaukee Area Technical Colleges, where she trains the next generation of first responders.
Beyond her work in firefighting and EMS, Tasha is an avid runner and a passionate collector of art and music, appreciating the creativity and expression that these bring to life.
As both a first responder and educator, Tasha is dedicated to saving lives, educating future emergency professionals, and paving the way for more diversity and inclusion in fire and EMS. She continues to make a lasting impact in her field and community, serving as a role model for aspiring firefighters and paramedics.
