Civic Power Hour is a one-hour workshop designed to empower underserved and justice-impacted communities with the knowledge and tools needed to actively participate in the democratic process. Many individuals face systemic barriers to voting, such as lack of information, mistrust of the system, and confusion about the electoral process. This workshop helps break down these challenges by providing nonpartisan, culturally relevant education and one-on-one voter registration support, ensuring every eligible voter has the confidence to engage in elections.
What You’ll Learn
During this interactive session, participants will gain a clear understanding of:
✔️ The structure of government at the local, state, and federal levels
✔️ How voting impacts policies and community outcomes
✔️ Voter registration, early voting, and Election Day procedures
✔️ Your voting rights and how to navigate the electoral process
Our program also integrates civic education into reentry and workforce development, emphasizing the connection between civic responsibility and broader community impactsuch as economic empowerment, public safety, and policy change. By creating lifelong advocates rather than one-time voters, we work to foster ongoing civic engagement.
